Our DevFest is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form.
Be excellent to each other. Be respectful, professional, and welcoming.
DevFest Coimbatore is a community-run event intended for collaboration and networking. We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment where all participants can learn, connect, and grow. We value the participation of each member of the tech community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
This Code of Conduct applies to all event participants—including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and organizers—at all event venues, social events, and online communication channels.
Be Considerate and Respectful: Be considerate of those around you. Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
Be Welcoming: We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities.
Be Professional: All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience, including people of many different backgrounds. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any part of the event, including talks, workshops, parties, and social media.
Be Mindful of Your Surroundings: Alert event organizers if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
Harassment: This includes offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion. It also includes displaying sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Disruption: Sustained or intentional disruption of talks, presentations, or other event activities.
Intimidation or Bullying: Any form of intimidation, bullying, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the event staff immediately. Event staff can be identified by their official "Organizer" or "Volunteer" T-shirts.
You can make a report in the following ways:
In-Person: Find any event organizer and report the incident directly.
Email: Send an email to our dedicated safety team at gdgcbe@gmail.com. This inbox will be monitored throughout the event.
All reports will be handled with discretion and kept as confidential as possible. Our team is trained to respond appropriately and will be available to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including a verbal warning, expulsion from the event without a refund, and a ban from future GDG Coimbatore events.
We value your attendance and your commitment to making DevFest Coimbatore a welcoming and safe space for everyone.
